In the ever-changing world of men’s fashion, one must be able to adapt, able to change their ways. It isn’t easy. In fact, it’s probably one of the biggest challenges the fashion world is facing today. But it only takes one to lead, to show that it is possible to change while also maintaining an old school mentality. Whether you walk into a store, or online shop, it is possible for this new mix to exist.
Meet Gene Brown, founder of G. Brown shoes. Not only is he the mastermind behind this brand, he is so much more. With thirty plus years of experience in the men’s shoe world, Mr. Brown started this company with a different thought, a different outlook. He knew something fresh needed to be introduced into the world of men’s fashion, but what exactly? Due to the new media age that has been introduced to retail, he wanted to create this brand in a different way than he has in the past. Fashion is every day, worn for all occasions, and, most importantly, should provide a whole new meaning to the word confidence. “There are a lot of reasons as to why I started this company. One of the them is my background. I have such knowledge and expertise in this business on how to create and make quality footwear that is different. A product that is hand finished with a fair value to the customer.”
Here’s how it works. There are two types of leather at G. Brown Shoes: unfinished calfskin and suede. We create styles and colors that we think the customer would gain the most wear out of. We want your footwear to be simple, not requiring any thought as to what outfit they need to go with. The shoes are all day, everyday essentials. But here’s the catch: anything made of unfinished calfskin, you have the power to design on your own. Want a specific color? No problem, we can do that. It’s an exciting chapter for the company, and we can’t wait for customers to start creating their own masterpieces. “I don’t think end goal is the right term for me,” Mr. Brown stated. “It’s not something I want to discuss. I would ask the question what are my goals? To provide the best product at the best price to the consumer. My ultimate goal is to have loyal customers who support the brand because they are completely satisfied with the product.”
Mr. Brown and his staff are constantly working on something new, something unique. He is an incredibly passionate man. Not only does he love designing his shoes, he loves making someone else happy. His favorite saying in business is what motivates him when he steps foot into the warehouse each day. “In order to be successful, you must love what you’re doing.”
